They show brightest on hair that has already been lightened, and over natural dark hair they come out as a tint rather than the bright color in the photos. Black and brown are the natural shades and go on exactly as your hair is, with no lightening step required.

Every tube here colors hair. None of them lighten it. If a vivid result on dark hair is what you are after, the bleach comes first.
